Welcome back to the What's Your Love Language series! Now that we all know what our love languages are I want to talk about very specific and practical ways to implement them into your relationship. Typically we use our own love language to show affection - it makes sense - this is how I feel loved so I will use it to make somebody else feel loved. But that only works if your partner's love language is the same as yours - and its probably not! The key to making this successful is using your partner's love language not yours. And I will warn you its easier said than done!
I am always looking to try new products but I usually like to see what other people have to say before I buy anything new. Insert Influenster - a wonderful site that is designed specifically for people from all over the world to write reviews for products they have tried. Influester also has other great programs around product review. For example, they put together VoxBoxes, boxes of some of the latest products on the market, for Influenster members to test out and review for free! I was so excited to find out that I was chosen to receive the 2013 Sugar n' Spice VoxBox! I was notified a few weeks ago that it was coming and I waited (impatiently!) until Friday when it arrived!
Recently I have been trying to find ways to save money grocery shopping. I stumbled upon this awesome free app - Ibotta - that gives you money for items you purchase. That's right - free money for shopping and its super simple! Here are some screen shots of how the Ibotta App works: When you first sign in you will see all of the offers available with the amount you can earn for each item.
Here is an example of some of the products available - they offer a wide array of products like candy, household products, food, and holiday specific items.New items are posted weekly.
Have you ever done something really special for your partner only to have their reaction be dull and disappointing? Maybe its because you and your partner are speaking two different love languages. What the heck's a love language? Its how people show gratitude , affection, and love for one another. We often develop our love languages as children and carry them throughout our lives. However, our personal love languages don't always match up with our partner's and that's when we start wondering why the heck they are excited that they did something we could care less about!
Happy St. Patrick's Day! For every holiday, my office has a potluck lunch to celebrate. For St. Patrick's Day I wanted to try something new. My boss asked if somebody would make shortbread cookies so I volunteered. But of course I couldn't just make shortbread cookies, they needed to have something extra. Keeping with the spirit of St. Patrick's Day I decided to incorporate Irish Cream. After pondering my options for a few days I came up with shortbread cookies with a dark chocolate Irish Cream ganache. The buttery cookies and rich chocolate topping go beautifully together. I also discovered that they are good fresh but if you try them the next day they are amazing!
