Fair Week continues here at Nel's Nook! {ok so it's more like two weeks but hey who is complaining about two weeks of fair food!} As a kid I always remember my parents
stopping and getting onion burgers at Meyer’s Hamburger stand at the fair. And as a kid I always thought “yuck onions!” Now that I am a little older I love onions and I couldn’t wait to
recreate my parents favorite fair food – onion burgers!
These burgers are so easy and so
flavorful - even my onion-despising girlfriend liked these! Plus they taste just like the burgers you get at the fair! Get the grill ready and enjoy a little bite
of the fair at home!
Washington State Fair Onion
Burgers
1 ½ pound of ground beef
2 eggs
1 packet of onion soup powder mix
1 teaspoon of minced garlic
6 hamburger buns
Your favorite hamburger toppings {ideas: cheese, ketchup, mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomato}
In a bowl, mix together the ground
beef, eggs, onion soup mix and garlic.
Cover and let sit in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
Divide the meat equally into six patties and press into
very thin patties. Grill or cook {I used a frying pan on the stove-top} the patties until done to your likeness
- at least 160 degrees please!
Serve with all of your favorite
toppings!
I want to hear from you - If you had to pick one thing to
eat at the fair, what would it be?
